World Water Council Strategy

Zunia has alerted us to publication of the World Water Council's strategy for 2010-2012: A New Water Politics. The strategy, covering WWC's Board of Governors' mandate from 2010 to 2012, identifies four key strategic objectives dealing with the pressing issues:

• Supporting political action to improve water and sanitation services and water
management;
• Deepening the involvement of major water users in solving global water
challenges;
• Strengthening regional co-operation to achieve water security and economic
development;
• Mobilizing citizens and consumers to address the global water crisis.

The World Water Council, established in 1996 in response to increasing concern from the global community about world water issues, has been granted special consultative status by UNESCO and ECOSOC.
