GEF meeting

The third Global Environment Facility (GEF) assembly, the first to be held in Africa, will begin in Cape Town on August 29th. The meeting will include three high level thematic roundtable discussions: Market-Based Mechanisms to Finance Global Environmental Conventions, Climate Change: Mitigation and Adaptation, and Identifying National Priorities and Allocating Resources to Enhance Results and Impacts at the Country Level. GEF funded projects in Botswana include the Every River Has its People's rhino programme and HOORC's Biokavango project.
