Photo from African Wildlife Foundation
The Every River Project in collaboration with the Botswana Department of Wildlife and National Parks have secured funds amounting to over P100, 000.00 from the Global Environment Facility to involve basin communities in the management of rhinos in the Okavango Ramsar site. The project entails a desktop research on the locality of the rhinos and how the various stakeholders can be involved in the management and non-consumptive economic benefits with particular emphasis on the role of the communities, given the protected status of the rhinos in the CITES Appendices.
