Wetlands studies at HOORC

HOORC’s corridors, lounge areas and library are busy this week with two sets of visiting students. HOORC’s Winter Course has brought 15 undergraduates from the University of Botswana’s (UB) Main Campus to study wetlands issues for eight weeks, while 20 graduate students from the University of Florida have arrived as part of the Global Wetlands Consortium’s collaborative and comparative research and training programme. The UB students presented their research proposals today while the University of Florida students were in orientation sessions with HOORC research specialists. Mike Murray-Hudson, HOORC ecologist and also a graduate student at the University of Florida, is playing host to his American colleagues.
