Global Wetland Consortium

The Global Wetland Consortium, a group of research institutes involved in wetlands research, is supporting greater contacts among wetland centers worldwide for the development of collaborative and comparative research and training programs. The Consortium has launched its first programme: an exchange of graduate students from the University of Florida and the University of Botswana, beginning in July 2006. HOORC and the Centre for Environmental Policy at the University of Florida, members of the Consortium, will host training and fieldwork for the programme. The exchange is being supported by the National Science Foundation of the United States Government through its Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) program in Adaptive Management for Water Wetlands and Watersheds.
