FAO Geonetwork

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has launched a new version of the FAO GeoNetwork, a tool for sharing geographically referenced thematic information among UN Agencies, NGOs and partner institutions. GeoNetwork provides satellite imagery, interactive maps and spatial databases from FAO, the UN World Food Programme (WFP), the 64-member Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) and other organizations that collect spatial data to reveal patterns of rural poverty and food production. The site offers access to both current GIS materials and historical maps such as The water resources of eastern and northern Botswana and their development, and Soils of the Okavango delta.
