The Tawana Land Board has issued the final report for the Okavango Delta Ramsar Site Land Use and Land Management Plan, one of the 12 components of the Okavango Delta Management Plan. The recommended land use zoning proposals, regulations and guidelines in the 245 page report reflect the views and contributions of communities elicited during community consultation meetings, and one-on-one consultation meetings with individual stakeholder government departments as well as inputs by the Reference Group. The report recommends establishment of the following development zones in the Ramsar site based on the nature and characteristics of the environment:
Panhandle
Delta Swamps
Controlled Hunting Areas and Game Reserve
Sandveldt Area.
You can find the report in HOORC's Library.
