New in HOORC's Library: Nomadic Desert Birds

One of the Springer series of publications, Adaptations of Desert Organisms, W. Richard Dean’s Nomadic Desert Birds explores the relationship among climate, habitat and movements of the avifauna of arid regions of the world and the advantages and disadvantages of a migratory lifestyle in desert environments. The book interprets “desert” in the broadest possible sense to include all areas with mean annual rainfalls below 250 mm, and includes examples from African savannah environments and ephemeral wetlands.
