Namibia’s National Forest Programme Facility

All Africa.com reports the launch of Namibia’s National Forest Programme Facility (NFPF) in Windhoek, aimed at promoting the sustainable use of the country's forests. The three-year programme, implemented by the Namibia Nature Foundation (NNF) on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry aims to raise awareness and increase participation in the national forest programme as well as improve knowledge management. The US$300 0000 for the programme came from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). In HOORC's Library, Sand and Water : a profile of the Kavango Region contains useful descriptions of woodlands and colour diagram maps of vegetation types in the northern Namibian region while the Peter Smith Collection offers Trees : threatened lifeline of northern Namibia by Alan Marsh.
