Arid and semi-arid ecosystems session at EGU

Returning after Christmas break to a Ngamiland dripping with rain, it is hard to remember that there will be parched months ahead. A reminder will be a special session at the General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union special session at in Vienna, 02-07 April 2006. The session will focus on the effects of hydrological processes on the distribution, structure, and function of ecosystems, and on the effects of the biotic processes on the components of the cycles of water and elements in arid and semi-arid environments, where knowledge is still widely lacking.
