Invitation for ODMP pilot project ideas

The Okavango Delta Management Plan Secretariat has advertised an invitation to civic society organizations for submission of concept notes for small pilot projects related to management of the Okavango Delta. The pilot projects are expected to test management practices and options, address some of the “hotspot” issues within the Delta Ramsar site and to involve civic society organizations in joint natural resource management. Six pilot interventions have been selected: waste management, manual control of the invasive weed Salvinia molesta, clearing of small access channels, active use and management of fire by resource users, human-elephant conflict and tourism and Commmunity Based Natural Resource Management.
