The 2011's record Okavango flood has caused Lake Ngami to grow to a size not seen for many years. Currently the lake is about 240 square kilometers in size, being 34 km long and 7 km wide. Daily progress of the growing lake can be followed on the O.R.I. website (www.orc.ub.bw/datacat/modis.php) or on the NASA website that features free daily MODIS images.
