Community-based approach to museum development for culture and sustainable development

At the World Conference on Cultural Policies , the inclusion of the concept of cultural identity in global cultural policies was strongly recommended. This concept stated that "the equality and dignity of all cultures must be recognized, as must the right of each people and community to affirm and preserve its cultural identity and have it respected by others".
