Makgadikgadi Framework Management Plan

The Department of Environmental Affairs is developing a management plan for the Makgadikgadi wetland site in terms of its current status, its potential land use patterns and to determine opportunities for future planning aspects. This plan is being developed through participatory approach involving all stakeholders such as local communities, non-governmental organisations and the private and public sector. The Plan has been broken down into the following components namely: ecology and hydrology, wildlife resource management, economic valuation and land use planning and zoning.
