Austrian sculptor works with Botswana woodcarvers to reveal spirit of the bush

The Austrian born sculptor Christiane Stolhofer will be conducting a two week workshop for woodcarvers in Botswana at the National Art Gallery at the Botswana National Museum in September 2010. In conjunction with an exhibition of Stolhofer's Okavango work sponsored by the Government of Austria, the workshop is being organized by the Museum to expose local carvers to the sustainable use of fallen limbs and firewood to create marketable works of art. Movement in Wood: the Okavango Work of Christiane Stolhofer, is at the Botswana National Museum art gallery from 7th to 21st of September 2010.
