Finale of the flood pulsed wetlands international symposium

The curtain finally came down on the Flood Pulsed Wetlands International Symposium yesterday evening. In her closing speech, Professor Sue Ringrose conceded that, the objectives of the workshop had been met and thanked all participants for the sterling work they had done. Although Professor Max Finlayson echoed the same sentiments, he pointed out that there had not been enough debate on climate change and wetlands, and he hoped the discussions would continue along that vein. The formalities were followed by a visit to HOORC where the visitors were taken on a tour of the facilities, namely the Herbarium, the laboratories and the Library. The evening ended with a dinner and entertainment from the Okavango International School Marimba Band
