HOORC geographer Professor Cornelis Vanderpost writes: "As we enter the season of fire and smoke, you may be interested to know that fires in southern Africa are monitored by satellite. See attached picture for fires detected during the 48 hours preceding yesterday. In HOORC's Library you can find Post-fire succession on savanna habitats in the Okavango wetland, Botswana by Michael Heinl, Jan Sliva, Michael Murray-Hudson and Budzanani Tacheba.
