HOORC's management sees a change with the successful recruitment of Professor Moses Chimbari as Deputy Director in February 2008, and appointment of Professor Susan Ringrose as Director of the Centre in June 2008. Professor Chimbari's academic background is in environmental health with a focus on bilharzia research. Professor Lars Ramberg, founding Director of the Centre, will continue as Professor of Limnology in HOORC's Ecology Unit from June 2008.
Mr Edwin Mosinyana has joined the Land and Water Unit as a Staff Development Fellow, Hydrology, and Mr Douglas Thamage has taken up the post of Community Officer, Shakawe, for the BIOKAVANGO Project.
Mr Joseph Madome joined HOORC as Curator, Natural Collections, in late 2007 and HOORC's laboratory services have recently been enhanced with the arrival of Lab Assistant Mr Kedidimetse Thorego and Lab Technician Mr Ronald Mothobi.
And the HOORC Library's digitization of legacy information resources, supported by BIOKAVANGO, has begun with Ms Olebogeng Suwe, Assistant Librarian, and Ms Anastacia Monageng, Digitzation Assistant.
