Recently published in Physics and Chemistry of the Earth were Access to water and related resources in Ngamiland, Botswana: Toward a more critical perspective and sustainable approach by Phemo Kgomotso and Larry Swatuk and Long-term variations of annual flows of the Okavango and Zambezi Rivers by Dominic Mazvimavi and Piotr Wolski. Kgomotso and HOORC researcher Swatuk used data collected from 43 village meetings during the ODMP process to look at the effectiveness of governance structures in addressing the issue of local people's diminishing access to the resource base in the Okavango Delta. HOORC researchers Mazvimavi and Wolski discovered
an underlying cyclic behaviour in annual flows of water in and out of the Delta, suggesting that from about year 2000, flows are gradually increasing, moving into a period with generally above average flows.
