Tourism training programmes for government officials

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) offers two capacity building programmes to government officials of member states:
  • the WTO.EKM Practicum is aimed at public officials with at least two years’ experience at a minimum of mid-management level, an intensive 10-11 day programme consisting of a seminar on specific aspects of tourism policy and strategy, destination management and other subjects, technical visits to tourism destinations as well as briefings and meetings with those responsible for UNWTO programme areas and regional representations
  • the WTO.Themis Knowledge Management Practicum, 10-11 days, in conjunction with the WTO.EKM Practicum, combines attendance at specialized conferences with participation in inter-active workshops and technical visits to tourism destinations and facilities.

Botswana has been a member of the UNWTO since 1995.

More details and application forms can be found on the WTO website.
