Climate data for southern Africa

New access to data collected by the Southern African Regional Science Initiative (SAFARI 2000) project about climate in southern Africa is available from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC) for Biogeochemical Dynamics . The SAFARI 2000 project was conducted in part to investigate impacts of large-scale transport and deposition of increasingly anthropogenic emissions on southern African biogeochemical cycling. More information can be found on the ORNL DAAC's SAFARI 2000 web page, which also has links to other Southern African vegetation monitoring sites.

ORNL –DAAC is part of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Earth Science Enterprise (ESE) program. The ORNL DAAC compiles, archives, and distributes data and model products related to biogeochemical dynamics that are the result of the interactions between the biological, geological, and chemical components of the Earth's environment.
