New in HOORC’s Library: economic valuation manual

HOORC’s library has just received a second copy of Economic Valuation with Stated Preference Techniques : a Manual, published by the British Dept. of Transport. The book is a detailed “how-to” guide to assigning monetary value to non-market goods and services such as those provided by wetlands. Definitions and explanations of techniques accompany examples for those wanting to develop survey instruments, test validity of results and to prepare reports. The concept of Willingness to Pay (WTP) is explained in detail. A companion summary guide for policy makers is available online.
