UNDP water governance assistance

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is in collaboration with Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) launching a programme – The UNDP Water Governance Facility at SIWI (WGF) - to support developing countries to improve water governance. The Facility is focusing on multiple thematic areas that range from integrated water resources management, transboundary water and water supply and sanitation to climate variability, gender and capacity building. The programme will provide policy support and advice on water governance to developing countries by disseminating good practices from local to country and river basin levels, advocating effective water governance as a requirement to reach the water related MDG and WSSD water and sanitation targets, participating in the work of the World Water Assessment Programme and contributing to the World Water Development Report (the printed copy of the 2003 report, Water for People, Water for Life is available in HOORC's Library).
