Groundwater workshop

UNEP / UNESCO, theSouth African Department of Water Affairs and Forestry and the University of the Western Cape are cosponsoring an international workshop, Groundwater Protection in Africa, to build on the recent UNEP/UNESCO groundwater pollution vulnerability and risk assessment in 11 African countries as well as the groundwater protection experience in a number of developing. The workshop will contribute to work on a groundwater protection strategy suitable to Africa’s physical and socio-economic environment. The workshop will be held from November 28th to 30th this year.

The University of the Western Cape is offering several short courses on groundwater assessement and protection that are also part of the UNESCO Chair Scheme.
