The seminar will give an overview of participatory methodological insight gained from past and current traditional medicine multidisciplinary collaborative research projects between ORI, UB Faculty of Science and international researchers. Multi-level data collection process was developed through consultative and feedback workshops with Traditional healers and public health practitioners in Botswana.
Antibiotic properties of medicinal used by TH to treat various diseases were investigated in-vitro. Professor B N Ngwenya (ORI) and Prof Andrae-Marobela (UB Department of Biological Sciences) will discuss pre-clinical participatory methodologies of the current research projects. Prof. Wambebe, the projects special guest, will focus on clinical research and traditional medicine development.
