Upgrading Seminar: Mphil to PhD

The Graduate Students Committee, on the 26th September 2012, approved progress reports tabled by Okavango Research Institute (ORI) supervisors to request that Mphil students justify being upgraded from Mphil to PhD status by presenting the work they have done so far. Four students made their presentations on the 8th of October 2012 in the seminar room at ORI.
The following students presented on the topics below:
1. Sekgowa Motsumi - Policy and Institutional analysis for Sustainable Molapo Farming System in the Okavango Delta, Botswana
2. Krasposy Kujinga - Household water security in different settlement categories of Ngamiland, Botswana
3. Elijah Chirebvu - Malaria transmission dynamics in Tubu village, Ngamiland, Botswana
4. Neelo John - Assessment of woody species aorund flood recession (Molapo) farming areas of the Okavango Delta, Botswana

An assessor was selected for each presentation. The assessors will recommend whether students should be upgraded or not. The  attendance and participation of the presentations were open to anyone interested (academics, students, senior support staff).
