"Southern Voice" campaign launched

In order to increase the impact of Southern research on global development discussions, an initiative has been launched to break the dominance of Northern agendas and practices in development debates and policy. Global Development Network ( an international organisation that works with local, regional and international organisations to help social scientists from developing countries generate new development-related knowledge) is spearheading the 'Connect South' campaign, whose objectives include closing the knowledge gap between developed and developing countries, making good quality research easily accessible globally, and  building capacity. To enforce this, partner organisations are invited to sign a 'Charter of Commitments' and to outline how they will help Southern researchers communicate their work more effectively.
