Africa will teach her own History


A meeting bringing together members of the Scientific Committee in charge of the pedagogical use of the eight volumes collection of the General History of Africa, has been arranged by UNESCO from the 4-9th Septemder in Harare, Zimbabwe. The meeting will draw 65 experts from 36 countries in Africa and its diaspora (USA, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, France.The purpose of this meeting is to define the methodology, determine the teams’ working methods and develop a work plan. It will be preceded by a workshop on the revision of concepts, paradigms and categories used in social sciences and humanities and applied to Africa. More information available here.
