Green economy: staying power
In this article, the author David Huberman questions whether the Green Economy can live up to the hype. With the much anticipated presentation of the global study on the Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB), the buzz surrounding the idea of greening the world economy is getting louder, and is making its way to the top of the agenda of what is likely to become the world's biggest environmental meeting-the 2012 Rio + 20 Summit. As the Green Economy continues to generate interest and enthusiasm, one wonders when it will run out of breath. The question remains: is the Green Economy just a passing trend, or will it still be relevant 10 years down the road. The article is available in the latest issue of the World Conservation magazine in the ORI Library.
