New at HOORC's Library: poverty, livelihoods and governance in Africa
For a long time now, Africa despite its abundant natural and human resources, has been beset by poor development performance, stemming mostly from bad political and economic governance, coupled with its lack of will to fulfil its promise of good development outcomes for sustained improvements in the lives of its citizens. In this book, the author states that it is not all doom and gloom. In fact this book is about hope and promise. The book analyses Africa's past and current development problems, and its improving development performance which he attributes to the following factors, i.e. rising growth rates, declining poverty, increasing exports in many countries, an improving investment climate , a decline in conflicts, just to name a few. You can find the book at HOORC Library.
