The South African Department of Water Affairs is arranging and hosting the Second African Water Week (AWW2) conference for the African Minister's Council on Water (AMCOW) for the period 9 to 11 November 2009 in Johannesburg. OKACOM Executive Secretary Dr Eben Chonguiça will co-chair a session, Managing Africa's Transboundary Waters on November 10th. AMCOW, as a region-wide ministerial body, has a special responsibility and challenge to facilitate cooperation amongst African river and lake basin organisations.
