Global environmental indicators
The 2009 United States focused Index of Leading Environmental Indicators points out that the world’s most severe environmental problems, as ranked by the Blacksmith Institute and Green Cross Switzerland, are overwhelmingly problems of poverty in developing nations. The report's section on water quality highlights the slow progress of the Florida Everglades restoration effort while the section on land and species conservation trends reports results of a biological survey of the Greater Mekong Delta in Southeast Asia. The report is published by the Pacific Research Institute.
