Carbon and biodiversity mapping

Map of Zambia from the Atlas

The UN Environment Programme (UNEP)'s World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) has created an atlas that identifies overlaps of high carbon and high biodiversity areas. The Carbon and Biodiversity Demonstration Atlas is intended to show how reducing emissions from deforestation can not only assist in combating climate change but can also help the conservation of biodiversity, from amphibians and birds to primates. You can find the document online.
