Delegations from 53 member states of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will participate in the conference, Water for Agriculture and Energy for Africa: the Challenges of Climate Change in Sirte, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya on 15-17 December 2008 to discuss investment in water resources development in the context of climate change. Members of non-governmental organizations, farmer groups, civil society associations and the private sector will participate in the official conference and in parallel events.
