Motsamai Mpho at award ceremony
HOORC's Library has awarded the 2008 Moabi wa Kitso Award for knowledge sharing in the Okavango community to Mr Motsamai Mpho of Maun. Mr Mpho, a veteran community activist and founding father of Botswana politics, is known in the community as a lifelong learner who shares what he has learned across social and cultural divisions. Mr Mpho's library of political and historical documents at his home in Boyei Ward is frequently visited by schoolchildren and is used as a meeting place by community members.
The Moabi wa Kitso award was created by HOORC's Library in 2007 to recognize people who have made extraordinary efforts to share their knowledge for the benefit of others in the Okavango community.
