African global environmental change experts workshop
The International Council for Science (ICSU) Regional Office for Africa, in collaboration with the National Research Foundation (NRF), South Africa, is organizing an international workshop of experts on Global Environmental Change (including Climate Change and Adaptation) in sub-Saharan Africa. The workshop will take place at Roode Vallei Country Lodge in Pretoria, South Africa on 9 – 11 February 2009. The main objective of this workshop is to implement the ICSU ROA science plan on Global Environmental Change (including Climate Change and Adaptation) in sub-Saharan Africa. and the workshop is open to researchers and policy-makers in public and private institutions and organizations (government, academia, industry, UN-agencies and NGOs) who are interested in contributing to the implementation of the plan. Participants wishing to present posters are requested to submit their abstracts to the ICSU ROA secretariat before 19 December 2008. More information is available on the ICSU web site.
