Botswana : the impact of travel and tourism on jobs and the economy is the recently released Tourism Satellite Account report from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). Tourism satellite accounts aim to reveal the total direct impact of tourism on the economy. The Botswana report concludes that, although Botswana's tourism sector has shown good growth over the past decade, and is described by the report as "one of Africa's most exciting travel destinations", the country remains relatively unknown and heavily dependent on intraregional tourists. The forecasts of the WTTC show that Botswana has the potential to expand rapidly and to significantly broaden its tourism product base. The report can be found in HOORC's Library.
