Professor Bill Mitsch of Ohio State University led a week-long course on wetlands ecology and management last week in Maun. The course was hosted by HOORC and organized through WaterNet, a southern African regional network of university departments and research and training institutes specialising in water. HOORC research fellow Dr Philippa Huntsman-Mapila guided participants -- water management officers and researchers from the Southern African Development Community (SDADC) region –- in applying principles from Professor Mitsch’s textbook, Wetlands, to a water chemistry fieldwork project in the Okavango Delta.
