Regional IWRM meeting

A meeting to improve awareness of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and related resources that contribute to poverty alleviation through equitable and sustainable use of water in the SADC region will be held in Maputo on the 16th to 18th of May 2007. The SADC Multi-stakeholder Water Dialogue and the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA) Annual CP 2007, ‘Watering development in SADC: beyond IWRM concepts and the converted’, will include an exhibition of relevant IWRM work by institutions in the SADC region, a day of presentations and discussions and a field trip to a local site near Maputo where issues of floods, risk and vulnerability and IWRM will be pointed out.
