Conservation technology resource

Technologies for Conservation & Development (t4cd), a joint project of the international conservation organisation Fauna & Flora International (FFI) and the South Africa based development NGO ResourceAfrica (RA), aims to raise awareness of the benefits of technology in the fields of conservation and sustainable development. The project's web site brings into one place news about information and communication technologies that can be used in environmental monitoring and conservation planning , including data management and information tools, mobile communications and wildlife tracking devices as well as information about power supply solutions for remote, off-grid locations. The site publishes a project of the month and technology of the month: this month's features are the WildTrack Footprint Identification Tool and CIEarth, a software application that enables both literate and illiterate users to map natural resources.
