New in HOORC's Library: development work methods
Need to understand the difference between natural and social capital? Methods for development work and research : a new guide for practitioners provides useful definitions and descriptions of approaches to development research and intervention. Particularly relevant to those working with natural resource management are the chapters, Participatory Methods in Use, and Selected Development Issues and Approaches, in which the rights-based approach, poverty analysis, appreciative inquiry, social capital assessment and geomatics are described and discussed. Monitoring and evaluation methodology has its own chapter, and a 15 page bibliography leads the reader to more sources. You can find the book in HOORC's Library.
