New in HOORC's Library: animal encounters

Facing the wild : ecotourism, conservation and animal encounters by Chilla Bulbeck attempts to explain the human motivations behind wildlife watching and safari tourism through looking at specific animal encounter destinations such as zoos, national parks and wilderness settings. The book's appendices include a description of the research methods used in Australia as well as copies of survey instruments and tabular summaries of the data collected -- visitor behaviour, membership in nature societies, feelings about encounters and trip planning behaviour.

You can find the book in HOORC's Library.
