Global Deserts Outlook is the first thematic assessment report in the Global Environment Outlook (GEO) series of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The report is a UNEP contribution to the International Year of Deserts and Desertification in 2006. The report's third chapter looks at the links between deserts and non-desert regions, and a summary can be found online.
The Desert Research Foundation of Namibia's Gobabeb Training and Research Centre is a Global Deserts Outlook Collaborating Centre.
