Dr Susan Ringrose, University of Botswana Professor and HOORC researcher, is featured in the "Quantified" column in the December 8, 2005 issue of Nature, along with the publication of Determinants of woody cover in African savannas. The article, a collaborative work with contributors based in 12 different countries, discusses the relationship of precipitation to the coexistence of grass and trees in savannah ecosystems.
